Fundraiser ideas for DogForums?

One of our local newspapers makes up pet calendars each year with reader submitted pets, and donates the procedes to the local spca. They make collages with many pets for each month, so every submitted photo is on the calendar.

I think it would be neat if DogForums did something similar, and with cafepress.com, it'd be pretty easy to do. I made one of Beavis for myself. (Since it's just for me, it's listed at base price, so I'm not "selling" them for any profit.)

There's other products, too, like tshirts, hats, mugs, mouspads, bumper stickers, etc.

Since DogForums is becoming a family-like community, I think it would be a neat thing to have DogForums merchandise, especially if the procedes went to a dog-related charity.

I'd be willing to donate some time and photoshop skills to putting together collages for calendar pages or other products.

I do realize it's a little late in the year to be doing something like this, but just tossing it out there.

Cafepress is REALLY expensive, markup wise.

If there's interest in this, I'd be willing to put it together and have it printed at a client's print shop (I get a small discount) and any profits could be donated to something.

Re: Fundraiser ideas for DogForums?

This is a neat idea, and something I too wish we had more time to do this year. Perhaps the forum should put together a proposal for Dave to review. What product we should focus on...I love the calender idea. How it will be produced. What charity it will benefit. How the calender pages will be determined. When the calender will be announced. When will photos be submitted. These are all things that I can think of at the moment that will need to be determined, be it by polls, or coordination between forum members, or volunteering time.

Since this is your idea Lorina, and if we're looking at next year for the calender (which leaves us lots of time), would you be willing to put the proposal together, or work with others to see that a proposal is written? Perhaps write the proposal here?

Just an idea...and possibly not worthy of the original.

I would also be willing to donate time "photoshopping". Sounds like a good idea to me as well.
