Unhappy 5 1/2 yr old Sheltie with terrible sneezing problems.

Our male sheltie is having terrible sneezing problems. Sneezes 6 or 7 times, then the lower jaw trembles, he gets the hiccups, and his left eye closes up. He seems to take all of the wind out of him and he has to lay down for 5-10 minutes. We are being told it is from possibly a very bad ear infection which has affected the nerves in his face. Also, his left ear droops, his left eye and his lower lip droops.

Any ideas or help from anyone who may have had similar problems with their dog??

I've had two shelties but never had this problem. Did you bring him to the vet? To me it sounds like some kind of allergies, but I would definitely have him checked out. I'd be interested to find out what it is.

It sounds very serious! I would take him to the vet to check him out. It's better safe than sorry.
