elbow problems on hardwood

hi people ... wondering if anyones had problems with there dogs on hardwood floors .my dogs older now and i cannot think of a good way to keep her off her elbows. ive seen a website that had a set of elbow pads but coudnt find a way to order them was some kinda patent page? but i wonder if anyone knows where to get something like this . the vet told me to rig something but i havnt had any luck there.

vet acts like its no big deal and will get better but i dont see this happening been gettin worse now for 3 or 4 months ... im pretty sure shes got it infected now and we will be heading to the vet . but id still like some kinda prevention for this because im sure its not going to go away on its own? anyways any info on this whud be great ideas on rigging pads for her etc ...

Re: elbow problems on hardwood

when removed our carpet and went to hardwood floors our then 10 year old Westie had a very difficult time--she couldn't even really do the steps, even tho we put a runner on it. our new pup has been on the hardwood floors since he is a puppy so he is used to it and does better although he cannot hold a sit, too slippery, so I have him hold downs.

well its not so much her walking around ... i guess i didnt say my problem very well what happens to her is shes rubbed all the hair on her elbows off now its a big callus thats starting to come apart and get infected i think...

she really needs some kinda elbow pad... as just laying stuff around the house for her to lay on dosent always work. she does use em sometimes but not enough i guess. that was more my question been on a hunt now for doggy elbow pads? or an effective way to rig something bandages and gauze dosent work it always slips off.i whudnt think this be a big deal with most dogs but the area on her elbow is really lookin bad now hope its not as bad as it looks but im headed to the vet anyways...

Coban is something that just wraps around an arm (I use it on patients) that self sticks, you can take it off and rewrap it--it is sort of like ace bandages but different. The only thing is that if you think the elbows are infected you need to go to the vet first and have it treated and healed--let me see if I can find a website on coban, hold on:

http://solutions.3m.com/wps/portal/3...AdheringWraps/

It even says it can be used to protect sensitive skin, you just wrap the area and overlap it and press and it sticks to itself, no tape, pins, clips--and you can take it on and off and it is lightweight. By the way, this website shows it in tan but you can get it in all kind of groovy colors (green, blue, pink) just put coban in as a search engine and make sure it is the self-adhering
