safest flea control for pregnant bitch

I just adopted a pregnant bitch and she has fleas. What flea control would be the safest for her?
Thanks for your help.

Check with a vet. Sorry, but like pregnant women, nothing should be used without a vets approval.

Thanks for you reply. I will check with my vet, it's just hard to get through sometimes cuz the phone lines are always so busy. We live out in the country the vet comes out for our horses somethimes, so i'll check with him. Do you know of any home remedies, since we have alot of fleas out here.

Carla is absolutely right. Your vet is the one you should ask about this. You do not want to endanger the life of your new girl or her babies.

To the OP: Yes, your question is legit but you were just asking for it by the way you addressed your question. This is my second post on this forum but I know better. Next time, type out you have a female dog and nix the word "bitch".

ok totally off the topic but there is nothing wrong with the word bitch.....
actually a friend called me one once and I told him that
it isn't an insult to a dog person.....

nothing at all wrong with that word when used to describe a female dog....
