Help: Lil dog swallowed big rawhide....

She saw me coming to take it away from her, and down it went! The chew is about a 21/2 inch by 4 inch piece of rawhide. She has very few teeth and mostly just gums it, but she has managed to reduce it to about 2 1/2 inches long. She had chewed it earlier in the day and it had gotten fairly soft, but I was in the middle of dinner when I noticed it and didn't go pick it up then when she dropped it. After dinner I had just sat down when she brought it out again and started chewing, I said "Koko" and got up to get it and she just swallowed it whole.

What do I do? Should I give her something to make her vomit it up? I know the vet will rip me to shreds about letting her have it. Somebody help asap

I would definitely call the vet tonight ask them what to look for, etc. --- keep a good eye on her--make sure she is breathing properly, urinating and defacating as usual, you may be in for a long night and if need be take her to an emergency center. I am sure your vet will tell you what to look for. PLEASE don't give Koko anymore rawhide and keep us posted--I hope everything is alright.

Orange County Ca is an unknown quantity at this point

I'd rather have a Vet make her throw it up now as opposed to have to operate to find it later.
