REVISED AND ADDED TO American Eskimo not eating

Hi there - my name is Lena. Last thusday we rescued a female Eskie. She was wandering the streets with another eskie scrounging for food. My son offered her some lunch meat and the dog folowed us to our car and jumped in. The other dog ran away.

We are trying to find her owners. I took her to the vet - she has a cough = we put off getting meds though as the supposed owqners were coming that afternoon to get her. She wasnt eating well. They thought that was due to the change in environment and whtever she had been thorugh in the past few weeks or days on the streets...

now it has been 3 days and she still isnt eating anything at all really. She drinks water here and there. I have offered 2 different dry and 2 different wet foods. Also boiled chicken and rice at one poin which she seemed to like and then vomitted an hour later. Have not really seen any stool in the yard to collect or inspect. Although it hs beenreally rainy. She is just slepig and going outside periodically.

Vet thinks she is 3-5 years old most likely spayed already. seems generally very healthy. On antibiotics now for Kennel cough and if the couh desnt go away we suspect it could be a collapsing trachea issue.

an other feeding suggestions?

Re: American Eskimo not eating

If you intend on keeping the dog then I would take her for a vet check ASAP. You never know what she could be carrying and she'll need vaccinations. Take a fresh stool sample if you can so the vet can check for parasites too.

If you are not going to keep the dog then I would take her to your local shelter so they can give her a vet check.
