Need advise with new puppy vomiting.

Hello, I took my 7 week old boston puppy to the vet Friday to get shots and to find out why he kept vomiting, well other than the vomiting and the shot he said the puppy was fine, but that the vomiting was due to the entrance way to his stomach being to small cause of swelling and it cause everything that goes in to come right back out like a hair ball. Well he gave me Metoclopramide tablets and had me give him those. Well now hes not eating, is still vomiting and everytime I try to give him the 1/4 off the pill he vomits again. What can I do to get something in his stomach, and what should it be? Im afraid if he keeps it up he will dehydrate. Thank you in advance.

Leo

Leo,
What you are descibing is a congenital defect. You should return the pup to the breeder or the breeder should pay for the corrective surgery. In the mean time, the doctor may have to put a tube in the stomach to get food to the pup.

Re: Need advise with new puppy vomiting.

I would take the pup to the ER. Honestly, the pup shouldn't even be away from it's mom until the MINIMUM of 8 weeks.

Keep reciepts of ALL the vet bills in case the breeder doesn't want to pay. Then you may be able to take legal action. Have whatever vet you use give you an estimate on corrective surgery, or if you go ahead with it, again save the reciepts.

Do you have a Health garauntee? What state are you in? Many states now have lemon Laws, also it's against the law in most states to separate a pup from the mom until 8 weeks.

Oh, tell the Breeder EXACTLY what the vet told you, and that it's a birth defect.

Re: Need advise with new puppy vomiting.

Here's the South Carolina Lemon law, hope this helps.
http://www.aspca.org/site/DocServer/...pdf?docID=6741

If, within 14 days of sale of a registered dog or cat, a vet certifies animal to be unfit for purchase due to a noncongenital condition or within 6 months due to a hereditary condition, a purchaser may elect either:
• To return the animal and receive refund of the purchase price including tax, and reimbursement of vet fees (incurred before purchaser's receipt of certification). Maximum reimbursement for fees is 50% of purchase price including tax.
• To retain animal and receive reimbursement for vet fees (incurred before purchaser's receipt of certification) and future cost of fees in curing or attempting to cure animal. Maximum liability is 50% of purchase price including tax.
