G'day guys.
So, I've got this 11 year old staffy... He has some kind of infection on his foot, it's a large, hard lump behind the pads on his paw. I took him to see a vet who gave me 2 weeks worth of antibiotics for him, Antirobe. With those the lump reduced in size a little bit, so I went back for another 2 weeks worth, but the lump is still there and doesnt look to be getting too much better.
I've spent close to $500 on this already with no result, and i really dont have the money
My dad suggested I give him these leftover human antibiotics he has but im not too sure its a good idea? Cephalexin, he claims they can be used for dogs as well.
It will cost another $500 to have a piece of the lump cut off, the vet didnt want to take the whole lot off at once because he didnt think it will heal well.
So I guess I was wondering what you all think about the Cephalexin? If it is ok to use, what dose? Or should I just start savin for surgery?
hehe
aurgh
Thanks for reading =p
