We thought it was a heart murmur but the vet has run some bloods and told us she has chronic kidney failure.
She is on a drip and will be all weekend, I'm beside myself. It really doesn't look good.
The vet hasn't mentioned anything about the food, I don’t think the UK food has been affected by this recall; she has been on bakers complete not any of the affected foods

So sorry to hear of your dog's illness. Several people I have chatted with have given their dogs IV fluids for renal disease. My Shih Tzu was diagnosed about 6 weeks ago. He is on a low protein diet, and his 6 week follow up vet panel, showed a 50% improvement in his BUN and a .5 drop in his creatinine.
She has shown a little improvemnet but the vet is concerned that as soon as she come off the drip she will deteriorate again.
I feel really awful, it's so bad seeing her like that. When i sit down I just cry.
