| My Dachshund Has Stopped Eating...
My dachshund, Cuba is 6 months old. I started leaving him at home alone (while I work) in his crate about 5 -6 weeks ago. He is very well behaved...no barking and no accidents but over the past week he has stopped eating when he is left alone. I try feeding him a couple of hours before I leave to go to work, but he still doesn't eat...almost like he knows I'm leaving and as soon as I put him in his crate with his food he tries to tip his bowl over and by the time I get home from work, he usually hasn't eaten a thing. He also doesn't eat his evening meal right away, when a couple of weeks ago he would eat it all in seconds.
Why has he changed his eating habits? Is it because he doesn't like being left alone? Should I try changing his food? Right now he eats Science Diet Puppy Small Bites. I have fed him Iams meat in gravy a couple of times but only when he is eating at a different house or when I'm giving him his deworming tablets.
