Ear Mites?

So, I got my new dog a few weeks ago. We noticed that she was shaking her head and scratching her ears really hard. Recently my other dog has been doing the same thing. Is it ear mites? I think it might be. I've seen ear mite medicine at Petco. Does that stuff work? or do we need to go to the vet. I don't want to waste money on the stuff from the store if it doesn't work. Anyway, let me know your thoughts! Thanks!

Re: Ear Mites?

I would take them both to the vet. Dogs don't often get ear mites it's more a cat thing. Too much head shaking can produce hematomas.

Re: Ear Mites?

I agree, yeast infections are much more common and they definitely need to be checked. I have problems with ear infections myself and they drive me NUTS and they hurt!
