Hiccups

My new puppy seems to get the hiccups alot. Is there a reason why? They don't last long.

Re: Hiccups

It is perfectly normal for puppies to get the hiccups. The little ones tend to gulp a lot of air when they eat and drink, which causes the hiccups. I foster puppies for rescue groups now and then and I see this all the time.

Re: Hiccups

lulusmom is correct. It is mostly a puppy thing, is harmless, caused by excitement, and will go away as he/she grows older.
