Best insurance company

I'm looking to get my dog health insurance. I've gotten a number of quotes, and I"m wondering if anyone has had any particularly good/bad experiences with one company/plan or another. Can anyone recommend anything?

She's 10 years old, medium sized. I'm basically looking to get illness and accident coverage at a good rate, and as a perk (but not a necessity), I'd like to get some dental care, too (cleanings are really expensive).

Re: Best insurance company

Honestly none. Get a savings account and start putting away the money you would be paying in premiums. If your dog is already 10 anything she has had happen in her life with no be included in coverage. Insurance companies exist to make money, not to be helpful. They can come up with creative ways to link past illness to present to un-include it too. You generally have to pay up front for the bill at the vet and then hope they reimburse you properly. Ball is in their court as to what they will pay you back and why.

I've known a good number of people who have faithfully paid out to various companies to find when they did need to file a claim they were paid out so little it wasn't worth having paid their premiums for years. Even for plans with 90% accident coverage. Pretty hard to go after them when you already had to foot the bill.
