Unhappy Blood in Urine

I have a 10 months old American Foxhound. Over the past 2 weeks we have noticed him having a hard time peeing. It will come out in short spurts and then finally a steady stream. Today there was bright red blood in his urine. And this has been every time he goes to the bathroom. He has peed 10 times in a 12 hour period. He is also drinking a large amount of water, not eating a lot, sleeping most of the time, and has a distended belly. His eyes also look bloodshot. Could this be just a urinary tract infection or something more? He is not running a fever at all. And he is not playful like he was even a few days ago. And the urine is bright red. Could someone please give me some helpful advice?

Re: Blood in Urine

Could be a very bad UTI.... could be other things.

This sounds very painful, hasn't he seen a vet?

Re: Blood in Urine

This sounds like Cupid's situation when I first got him. He turned out to have a huge bladder stone. Please take him to the vet so you can find out what is wrong. This isn't something that will just go away on its own.
