SimbasMom is on a distinguished road
Just a question..

i dont think this is serious but i just want to make sure cause im such an overprotective mommy
My three year old siberian is happy, healthy and very active (as they all are) he goes to the dog park off lead 3-4 times a week for a few hours so hes lost a little bit of weight (he was small to begin with) thats nothing to worry about as long as hes still eating and drinking right? i know sibes are small anyways but my other male sibe has about 15 lbs on him. i think its just cause hes active.

My question is, Simba is still in a tad of his shedding period. it never seems to end hahah. But sometimes ill pull little clumps out and i was feeling around and thought i felt something and i pulled out a clump (not big) of hair and it was all brownish on the end. i think it was just dirt but i just want to see if thats happened to anyone else. is it jus dead fur? i know its not flea dirt cause thats like speckled

just a question just ot make sure its just dead undercoat fur

Re: Just a question..

It's not unusual to have the root pigment of a dog's haircoat another color than the surface guard hairs. If you look closely at a dogs coat blow into it and you'll see what's called a ring patterin in some breeds where the hair graduates in color from the base of the hairshaft to the tip. It is also likely natural oils that are in his coat to help keep his skin in shape.

Unless it has a purlent smell or another accompanying factor such as patchy fur, balding, excessive shedding, loss of appatite or the like it's probably nothing to worry about.

Lastly a siberian husky should weigh between 35-45 pounds maybe a bit nore for large boned males so if yours is in those parameters then you're good. Different lines produce different type so it's infair to compare this siberian to your last unless they both came from the same breeder or parentage.
