Arrow Sorry to be so anal, but EXACTLY how long is too long to walk after neutering?

I apologize for being so exacting in my question, but "short walks" is meaningless to me. A short walk for me is one mile but that's a long walk for others.

I just rescued a 1.5 year old, 55-pound Afghan hound-mix from the SPCA, and he is being neutered today. I know you have to make sure they take it easy, but exactly how far can we walk everyday while he recovers? Quarter of a mile? Half a mile? A mile?

I don't want him to be too restless in the house.

Thank you!

Have you asked the rescue organization? I didn't walk my dogs at all for a couple days and then less than a quarter mile for the first 10 days. But I don't know what the limits are. I think I would call the vet's office that you'll be taking him to and ask them.
