I have leftover heart guard but the dose is....

I have left over heart guard from my dog that recently passed away. Its for dogs 50lbs and over, my puppy is currently 35lbs, and I'm wondering if I can just cut the tablet in 1/2 and give it to my puppy? The ingredients on both sizes are the same, so its just a difference in tablet size right?

Is it the tablet for sure or is it the treat kind? I know the medicine is NOT equally spread through out the treats, so the must eat the whole thing.

This is the exact product, I'm not sure, it just says chewable.

Yes that is the treat version.. it CANNOT be broken in half because the medication is not evenly distributed.

Binkalette is correct you cannot just cut heartguard in half. They put a small amount on the chew and you never know where it is located. They do not mix it throughout the entire chew. You can buy a single dose from your vet until your pup reaches his/her adult weight.
