Spitting up yellow liquid...

My one-year-old Siberian Husky/Alaskan Malamute mix has been spitting up yellow liquid, which is obviously unpleasant. It isn't a constant thing-it happens about once every few weeks-but it is still a concern, and I would like some answers. We changed her food last year, and she had no problem with it, so I doubt that is the cause. When it happens, it's usually in the morning before she eats anyway. It is peculiar, because even my Australian Shepherd mix, who has always been in good health, is starting to do it as well.

We've already taken them to the vet this year, and when we did, the veterinarian said they were perfectly fine. We can't really afford another trip to the vet, so I'm hoping this problem is easily treatable from home.

It sounds like she is throwing up bile, probably from having an upset empty tummy. Maybe feed her smaller, more frequent meals or feed her breakfast earlier. Maybe you could just give her a hand full of kibble as soon as she wakes up if she does not get breakfast right away. Good luck!

Re: Spitting up yellow liquid...

I was kind of wondering if it was because she has an empty belly in the morning. I guess I will try that, and hopefully it works. Thank you very much! (:

Re: Spitting up yellow liquid...

My dogs were on two meals plus a bedtime snack for years. That did the trick for them. Easier to feed before going to bed than rushing to get a little snack into them in the morning.
