| I have no experience with the canine flea products, but back before I knew better, I used the feline formula and it almost killed my then 13 year old cat. Some cats have very, very bad reactions to it. I washed it off mine as soon as she started acting funny (a few hours after applying it), but she had what seemed like neurological damage that lasted about a week. She walked funny, like a crab sidestepping, and seemed to walk on her claws instead of her paws. She hid inside dresser drawers, wouldn't eat, and was basically miserable. I've heard cases of cats that began foaming at the mouth, seizuring or dying from it.
I won't touch any Hartz products.
I haven't heard much about the dog product, other than people who use it, and come in in with flea infested dogs and need to pick up Advantage, as well as an antibiotic for the ensuing infection, medicated shampoos and sprays, and steriods to help with the itching. So "saving" money by buying the Hartz product typically costs then about $150 or so in vet bills and medication.
