Exclamation I have a question about my Puggle..AGAIN

I know that a Puggle is a cross between a Pug and a Beagle...my question is would the puggle have the respiratory issues like the Pug does? I notice that Cooper snores alot and sounds almost like he is weezing. He also has the hiccups atleast 3 times a day. I have another appointment at the vet on the 3rd so I will bring these issues up to them when we go but if anyone has a puggle or is familliar with them and know of any issues they may have please let me know.......THANK YOU! I SWARE I WOULD BE LOST WITHOUT THIS DOG FORUM

Yes a Puggle can have the same respiratory issues that Pugs have. That's one of the down falls of mix breeds. They have the risk of having the issues that both breeds have. Most Puggles have the energy of Beagles and then the breathing issues of Pugs... Poor things...

Re: I have a question about my Puggle..AGAIN

When you mix breeds you can get the health issues associated with BOTH breeds involved. So, yes, your puggle could VERY well end up with the SAME issues a pug would as well as the issues the Beagle would have. This is why so many get mad when breeders of these mixes make claims that mixes are healthier than purebreds or don't have the same health problems.

Re: I have a question about my Puggle..AGAIN

As everyone has said, issues from both breeds can come out in a mixed breed, so your pup could have the respitory problems that Pugs does.

However, I did want to say that hiccuping is generally nothing to be worried about. I find it quite cute.

Puggles can be prone to this , some more then others. My friend has a puggle and he has no problems at all.
