salt?

My dog Sarge, for some reason, tends to get rocks and salt stuck in his pads. Right in the middle of a walk, he'll just stop, lif his paw, and wait for us to clean it. Even though booties look ridiculous, I've tried them, but his paws are too weird and they don't work. Is there any way to prevent this?

I can't remember off hand, but there are waxes that might work. ¿How are his paws too weird? If it were me, I would fashion up my own pair of custom boots.

He is a boxer/pitbull mix so his pads are widespread. I really don't know how he does it, because Maggie has large paws (for her size) and nothing happens to her. Maybe he's just a baby

Oh. ¿How old? I suppose it could be clumsiness, I haven't had pups of my own. Mine were all nearly grown when I got them.

I'm still trying to figure out how boots didn't work, unless they were too big. Then again, it's your dog and not mine. You get to see what is happening up close. I'm plum out of ideas, but someone here will have some.

(¿Does fur grow between the toes?)

He's about 4 or more years by now. Th boots were too loose and wouldn't grab onto his leg/ankle whatever. It would constantly fall off, but that was a pretty small boot too. I don't think I could go smaller.
