Itching?

Kaki has a habit of scratching her face with her paws. I've assumed that she has an itch. I'd like to make her more comfortable and happy so what could be the cause and how do I treat this?

Re: Itching?

How much is she scratching? If it's very often then I'd look at allergies as a topic with your vet.
It's not uncommon with dogs and it could be environmental or food related. My dog has allergies to ragweed and one town we lived in was especially bad on him so he was medicated throughout the summer until frost.
If it's a food allergy then you can go though the process of elimination, have patience with this *smiles*, by selection certain common food allergy ingredients and just remove them from the dogs diet.

On the other hand if the itch is mild you can get a mild tea tree blend in a spray that can help relieve, not cure, the symptoms. Either way you'll get great advice from your vet but by reading ahead of time you can be prepared to discuss an action plan.
