Flaking skin?

My puppy just started flaking yesterday. I took him a bath and noticed it. What could it be? Food, shampoo? I'm feeding it Purina puppy food. I will start the satin balls today!

Most likely it's just dry skin. Tends to happen more in the wintertime when it's cold and bathing only does more to strip out their natural skin oils. You can add some fish oil supplements to his diet. We just try to avoid bathing our dogs when it's cold.

Oh ok. Glad it's nothing bad. I took him a bath cause it was really nice and sunny yesterday, but it got cold again today. S. Texas weather is crazzy.

Sounds like dandruff..........You can try feeding him half a can of tuna (not the solid white) twice a week, and brush him every day. You can aslo try swtiching to his ffod to Wellness Fish and Sweet Potato, whcih has some fish oils in it and is great for a dog that might have food allergies.

A better quality food could help too.

What brand of food are you feeding? It sounds like your pup needs some Omegas in his diet. Salmon oil, sardine oil or flax seed oil will give him a nice shiny coat.

I'm feeding raw chicken, satin balls, and liver (every now and then). I need to go restock up on chicken quarters and necks. This boy can EAT!!
