Canine Cognitive Dysfunction Syndrome in younger dogs?

Hello, this is my first post here and I'm struggling to find any answers that may help me with my dilemma. I have a four year old Miniature poodle who is exhibiting the signs of Canine Cognitive Dysfunction Syndrome. He has this lost look in his eyes, like theres nobody home, he constantly wonders along the walls of the house when he's not sleeping, he doesn't bark or cry, gets stuck in corners..etc, all common signs of CDS. The thing that I don't understand, or haven't found is that this disease is prevalent in older dogs (ages 8-+11), and to my knowledge shouldn't happen to a dog in his prime. He's been like this for two days now, and my thinking/hoping that all of this is related to something that he may have ate is waining. What do you guys think this could be attributed to, and what would be your recommended course of action. Many Many thanks in advance to any reply's I get, and hopefully Roux gets better soon

I think your dog is exibiting some important symptoms that say he needs to see a vet IMMEDIATELY. He could be diabetic, blind, in pain, having seizure activity, liver issues, or any number of other problems. He really needs to see a vet. Yes some of those signs are similar to cognitive dysfunction, but that doesn't usually happen in younger dogs so it is probably from something else. A vet visit is in order ASAP. This isn't something that should have waited 2 days. If this was happening to my dog, I would have gotten him to the vet right away, and I am a vet tech.

Good luck.
