Question is she giving birth soon and hi

hi new to this forum so hellllo

right my cavalier is 9 weeks pregnant tomorrow ish

now please read her story before you make any judgements dont mean to be so forward but it seems that everytime i read someones info on there pregnant dog on the net they get bombarded with abuse so thought i would give you some background info

when i picked her up it was a rescue from a horrible person with a freezing cold barn that she kept her in

so from that took her to vets and they said she was only 5 weeks old and had eumonia really badly and nearly died

luckily she didnt and i nursed her through but from it she now has scarred lungs so operations are a huge risk for her hence why she was not neutered

i did not ever intend on her becoming pregnant

my mum looked after her for me for 4 days whilst i was in hospital and she comes back and a few weeks later ta dar i found out shes pregnant and im not happy about it

so any way back to my original question

she was awake alllll last night nesting and crying and was acting a little strange yesterday laying on the floor and lifting her bum in the air only for 2 minutes or so but still

now as this was unplanned i had no clue so spent all my spare time trying to learn everything i can and i found out about the tempreture thing so when i first found out i took it so i would know her base temp she was 99.? that was 2 weeks ago (dont know if it makes a difference how far in you put the thermometer) but anyways took it this morning and its 97.3 and ideas ?? oh and she has not gone off her food .

sorry for it being such along post

Talk with your vet, he should be the most helpful and you might still be able to abort the puppies.

Personally I don't care why the dog is pregnant....

you should be talking to your vet and not coming to an internet bulletin board full of strangers.

you had 9 weeks to prepare for this and learn, you had at least four to get her spayed before it was to late to do so.

You chose to have these puppies despite all the trauma your dog has already been through and despite her continuing health problems and that was incredibly selfish.

actually darling i did not have 9 weeks to prepare i have had 3 i have taken her to the vets and it was to late to do anything

and i was on here seeing if i could get any extra info for things i have otherwise not been able to either find out or understand

so i think you should keep your condescending little comments to your self and not bother replying to my posts as far as i see it will not be a loss

as for it being selfish it is exactly the opposite everything i do in my life is centered around her and i go by exactly what the vet tells me to do and what they advise is the best course of action

dont assume that just because im new that i know nothing ilike i said i have been doing nothing but research and look after her since i found out and have been getting all the info i can from my grandad who happens to have worked with dogs for 50+ years

AND I DID NOT CHOOSE TO HAVE THESE PUPPIES I HAD NO CHOICE!!!!!

How did you only have three? You didn't know she was pregnant for the first six? How old is this poor pup? Frankly, the fact that she is pregnant at all (even if it happened when she was with your mom), is your fault as her owner and puts her at a huge medical risk.

Especially since she has a preexisting medical condition, you need to be working very closely with your vet to improve the chances that this doesn't kill her, and if she's as young as it sounds does not improve her chances. Nothing anyone can tell you here will replace sound advice from a qualified veterinarian.

It's the same old story: It's not my fault, so help me fix it.

nope i did not know for the first six she did not show or act any different and i am working VERY closley with my vet the last thing i want is for her to die i am not a freek who thinks ts going to be fun to get my dog pregnant to see puppies i fully understand the severe nature of her being pregnant hence why i never planned on her getting pregnant

and this pup isnt as young as people maybe presuming shes 2 and a half so still my little baby but not really young

and thankyou for a politer response

Four days and Taa Daaa she was pregnant.... you had plenty of time to get her spayed....

you state you had her since age five weeks....

somehow you think that having a litter and the stress of that is better than having her spayed...

I feel sorry for your poor dog......

irresponsible totally irresponsible......

Re: is she giving birth soon and hi

what is the father of the litter????

If its a bigger dog than her, whelping the puppies could kill her.....

i don't understand what your question is.... do you think your dog is trying to give birth now?

NOthing can be settled over the Internet. Your dog needs to see a vet.
