allergy tests

Hi! Our dog has food allergies (paw chewing, itching skin, ear infections etc!) I ask our vet if there existed allergy testing for dogs, she told me that it did exist but that the results were not conclusive and that in most cases it was just wasted money. Did anyone have their dog tested and do you recommend it?

Re: allergy tests

I had my dog allergy tested-it showed that she was allergic to evrything. I did everything I could to help her with her allergies-and she was still a raw bloody mess.

She ended up still on the same dog food-but we moved to another state-different climate-and she is 100% perfect. Most beautiful coat you ever saw-and not even a bump!

Dont know if the tests were bogus-or if it was alot of the combination of the allergies in her old climate-but I think the tests were just inconclusive-wrong.

If she were that allergic like they said she is, to corn and grain, why doesnt it bother her now? Grass? She sleeps in it with no problems-

It costs a fortune-Id personally if ever had to do it again-would do elimination on my own before Id put her thru that again and spend all the money-
