| An at home remedy for cuts, sores, hot spots...
I would never recommend this remedy over a visit to the vet if you think your dog has a serious issue. This remedy is meant for minor issues.
If your dog is developing a hot spot, or has stepped on a small sharp object. If he is chewing a certain spot, or has a dry flaky spot. Go to the store and buy a jar of Carmex chap stick. Make sure it is the jar Carmex, not the stick. I dont know why but the stick is not as effective.
I have been using this treatment for a long time. Not long ago my mother had called me because her dog had what looked like a sore on the corner of its mouth from a scuffle her two Pekes had gotten into. I gave her the Carmex and by the next mroning it had looked better, the next day it was healing nicely.
Two nights ago her dog had a hot spot and she used it. It is now healed and going away.
I have used it on my dogs pads when they get scratched badly. I have used it on hot spots, and cuts. I have even used it on broken nails that bleed.
The trick is you must clean the area and DRY DRY DRY it very good. DO NOT glop it on,instead use a very small amount so that the wound does NOT stay gooey.
I have also been using this on myself and family for years. Cuts on hands, bug bites-etc |
