Worms

This morning when Candy went to the bathroom there was a small white thing about 1/2 an inch long. I wasn't sure what it was so I grabbed it a looked closer and it was moving. This is the first sign of anything I have seen. I already scheduled a visit to the Vet tomorrow morning just to get her checked out since I just got her but is there anything I should do between now and then?

Re: Worms

Probably tape worms, which they get from ingesting a flea. You will need to get a tape worm de-wormer from your vet. Our vet will dose it out to us just based on our report of seeing them, but they know we know a tape worm when we see one. Your vet may want to see your dog or, at least, have you bring in a fecal sample.

Re: Worms

Ditto to what lovemygreys said. No worry, it's just a segment of a tape worm. Your vet will either give your dog an injection or pills. Nothing else for you to do except wait for your appointment.
