I thought this thread would be about something entirely different. I guess I have a dirty mind.

Dog can have peanut butter, so peanuts should be ok, but salted nuts would have entirely too much sodium.

I saw this thread, and I was like "What the ...? Of COURSE dogs can have...er..."

LOL!!!!

Anyway, on a more serious note, no. Nuts can cause damage to their intestines and bowels and cause blockages.

Don't feed your dog chocolate, raisens, nuts of any kinds, "greenies" gosh there is a whole host of things that dogs can't have.

Cooked bones, too- they are softer then raw bones.

Too much egg whites can cause harm, too.

Maybe someone will give a more comprehensive list then I can.

Funny, that is not where my mind went, even though I normally have a very dirty mind.

No, nuts aren't a really good idea for dogs. They are also high in fat which could bring on pancreatitis. A nut here or there, would not be a huge deal I think (depending on what kind---I think walnuts can have a certain kind of fungus that is really bad for dogs), but it is not something that wild dogs would probably come across and so I don't think they need it.

What are "greenies"? At first I thought you meant vegetables, but that can't be right can it?

Ok, it's unanimous. We all have dirty minds!! Myself included. I thought "nuts" was what they cut off when they neuter a dog. LOL.

I also need to know what "greenies" are?

Greenies is a namebrand for a dog treat. They have been know to cause intestinal blockage if not chewed properly.

All bones are bad for dogs. Cooked or not. You never know when they will chew off splinters of bone and swallow them causing all sorts of problems.

Hmmm...sounds reasonable. You see so many dogs gnawing on an old bone I was curious. I reckon you can get one of those old rawhide jobbies and soak it in beef broth for flavor.
