Unhappy 16 yr old maltese constantly vomiting

My dog has been vomitting a lot over the last month or so (puked 3 thursday , 6 times tuesday , and once today 2 hours after feeding her steak/chicken ). First off, don't say i need to get her to the vet, my parents said no and i am probably going to take her in a few days anyway, so please don't point out the obvious Other than the puking she seems happy and healthy, and looks like she can last another few years

When she pukes it is mostly watery, sometimes with bits of food, rarely yellow foam, and sometimes with a white substance at the top that is kind of like egg yolk. She usually pukes in the evening to early morning (tuesday she puked 6 times from 1 am to 2:30 am). Before she pukes she drinks A LOT of water (i try to monitor it but alas), and she drinks a lot of water through out the day. After she pukes she tries to eat it and tries to bite me when i pick it up (shes old and generally senile). She doesn't have diarea (sp).

We don't feed her dog food, we feed her "human" food 2 - 3 times a day, though lately at noon only. We also give her milkbone dog biscuits when ever she wants one, she won't eat regular dog food anyway. She is a 16 year old maltese. The food has never troubled her before.

If anyone knows what she has (i think its intestinal worms) please post, or if you need specific info tell me. Also if anyone knows GOOD vets in Winnipeg. Once again, please don't post "TAKE HER 2 TEH VET!!@!@!@!", i will, but first i want to know what she has and what tests to get done. Also please don't post awwww poor dog, i'm not looking for sympathy im looking for info. Sorry if i seem harsh but this is something i am worried about, as i have had her almost all my life and she is practically a human

Thank you in advance

I believe what you are feeding her did her good for 16 years so if you have trouble with people telling you to change to dog food please DONT. Want to know why? Because my mother has a 23 year old Puggle mix that she fed human food all her life and NEVER had any issues. That dog is still alive today happy and healthy. My Dalmatian also ate people food all her life, homemade especially for her because she has skin allergies. Now that ive said that i will try to help you.

Maybe you have changed her diet? Or just a regular tummy ache that goes on?
Dont worry i WONT say take her to the VET because sometimes thats not the answer and believe it or not you endup saving a bunch and having a great companion still.

Try to feed her smaller portions because she is getting older. Also always have water provided to her 24/7. Try to feed her some Chicken and Rice especially make for her cook it yourself that always helps.

Im sure she just got a back tummy ache, good luck and hope she gets better soon

Take her to the vet. Yes I know you don't want me to tell you that , but it's what you need to do. You obviously know that, since you don't want us to state the obvious. And you won't know what she has or what she needs done untill you take her to the vet.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but this is a public forum and you can't sensor the answer that you get, even if it's something that you don't want to hear.

You have an older dog that has been vomiting for a long time (not pleasant for the dog) and is drinking alot of water. The dog could have kidney disease, or diabetes, or any number of other things. You would need a full blood panel to rule those things out, or tell you how bad it is and how to treat it.

If you are a kid whose parents will not allow you to take proper care of the dog, I certainly feel for you. That is a hard postion to be in because you are somewhat powerless. You could try a bland diet of either Gerber or Beechnut plain chicken baby food, or plain white meat chicken and rice, and maybe that would settle her stomach a little.

You don't want me to tell you what you know you need to do which is to take the dog to the vet, so I will tell you the only other thing which may help.

Pray.
