Dark spots?

Some background:

I have a six year old lab. When he was around one year old, we noticed for the first time a small dark spot on his back near his neck (after he was at the groomer getting shaved). When his coat is long, the spots are hidden. We were not sure what it was, but took him to the vet with no luck.

This has now been an ongoing issue, but I guess we finally have exhausted all possibilities that we know of.

He has been tested for food and environmental allergies. He was off the chart on some, so we have tailored his diet (Evo) and he is on allergy shots. He receives an Omega 3 fatty acid supplement every day.

We just had a thyroid test done and all four parts came back negative.

I love my dog, and I want him to be healthy and happy. I can't say that he is showing any signs of being in any kind of discomfort - but he's a lab! He wouldn't be anything other than happy-go-lucky unless it was very, very serious.

The spots have been tested for yeast and bacteria, and it's neither.

Re: Dark spots?

In those pics, the spots just look like "freckles", just pigment spots. Are they crusty, oozy, inflamed, etc?
