Unhappy Please Help, Sick Dog

My dog was locked in his kennel for the night last night and then this morning he was vomiting and having diarreha that had some blood in it. Other than that his behavior is pretty much the same except he obviously seems sick. I would really appreciate ANY suggestions of possible causes, and cures. Any suggestion about the situation at all would be very great.

i would go to the vet but first i would wait about an hour to see if he is still vomiting and or having darreha this could just be a cause of something the people at the kennel feed them if they even feed the dogs what the owners didnt say to feed them other then that i8 would go to the vet

I believe the OP was saying that the dog was crated last night, not in a boarding kennel.

How old is the dog? What breed?

If this is a puppy, you need to worry about Parvo. If it is an adult, you can withhold food and water for about 6 hours and if he hasn't vomited for that long, you could give him a little water every hour or two and see if he keeps that down. If he vomits more, I would get him to an emergency vet. If he keeps the water down, then start giving small amounts of a bland diet every hour or two. A bland diet would be plain Gerber or Beechnut baby food, or 1/3 plain white meat chicken (canned is fine) and 2/3 white rice (minute rice is fine).

If he keeps that down and seems to get better great. If he keeps vomiting and/or is lethargic with the diarrhea, he need to get to a vet right away because that can dehydrate them very quickly.

Take your pup to the vet NOW! and since it's the holiday you'l proply have to go to the emergency vet. Bloody diarrhea is a very bad sign and it's not somthing that can wait till the regular vets open on tuesday.

Is your dog used to being crated, or was it a new experience?

If its not used to the crate, the reactions could have been stress related.

If you're positive blood was in the stool, it could be a sign of many things:

If its a pup, it does need to be checked for parvo.

However, diet can add to it - what food do you feed, and what color is the kibble? I've seen dogs with "bloody stool" but it turned out to be much less serious than the owner thought.

Also, if the pup/dog has recently been dewormed or HAS NOT been dewormed, that could be an issue as well.

When you go to the vet, be prepared to take a stool sample.

I just got a yorky male puppy and check him out witin 24 hour gdt. He has
worms. Vet said that he may vomit, which he has tried but nothing comes up.
Did find a worm in stool & looked like blood. The vet put on half tablet of
medicine & takes the other half in two weeks. Also giving a small liquid dosage for the next nine days. How old is your dog? Has he been to the vet?
