This could cause an intestinal blockage, which will kill your dog if left untreated. My basset hound puppy swallowed a rock, which I didn't see him do, but I noticed that he stopped eating and was lying around on his side. Of course, I took him to the vet when he refused food and the vet xrayed him and saw the blockage. He required surgery and was fine, thanks to getting him to the vet quickly, he didn't lose much of his intestines and lived to be 13 years old. Unfortunately, he developed intestinal cancer, which he died from. Watch your pup very closely and get him to the vet immediately if he shows any signs of distress.
