Anal Gland surgery

anyone here have the surgery to remove the anal glands? Were there any complications after? I hear the stools become leaky or something

because he constantly scoots his butt on the carpet no matter how many times I get his anal glands relieved

Removing the AG's is usually a LAST resort. Was this recommended by your vet?

Itching or scooting can be due to fleas, an allergic or itchy skin condition, occasionally to worms.

my dog has had a bad anal gland problem for years, and yes I brought it up to my Vet last time I saw her, she recommended I give him pumpkin and I give him pumpkin and it doesnt matter because he constantly scoots even if he just gets his anal glands expressed

That doesn't really sound like an all anal gland problem if they've just been expressed and he's scooting. Has he been checked for other problems like tapeworms and or allergies? If they've just been expressed he should have some type of relief for even a short amount of time.
