blood in poop

my puppy i've had for about 2 months now all of a sudden has poop in his blood and its a little runny

i just recently moved back in with my parents though and i've had trouble getting him to eat, but now i realize hes just picky and i need to prepare his food the way he likes it, today is the first day he's eaten his entire recommended food intake in almost 2 weeks

he's only been eating small mouthfulls here and there

he was also clean of everything when i took him to the vet in march and hes up to date with all his shots

Re: blood in poop

A dog can get sick within the time you took it to the vet and now. You need to take your dog to the vet, we are nots vets and are not qualified to answer questions a vet should answer.

i also forgot to mention that he seems perfectly normal, his additude hasn't changed, he's still playful, alert, and doesnt seem to have any type of discomfort

Re: blood in poop

You do need to get him vet checked but...my boyfriend has a dogue de bordeaux and she did the same thing but about at a year old and it was whip(sp) worms. she had to be on meds for about a week or so and follow up every couple of weeks but it cleared up and she doesnt do it anymore...so that might help you some!!

Re: blood in poop

Call the vet when they open tomorrow and ask if they think he needs to come in right away or what they would recommend.

Re: blood in poop

ok thanks guys, i figured this was something that required a trip to the vet but i thought i'd give it a try and hope it was something related to the stress of moving or from not eating enough

Re: blood in poop

If anything would have happened from him not eating enough it would only be loss of weight and vomiting from an empty stomach.
