Question What can I give my dog for pain?

Hello, all--I hope someone can help me. I have a 15-year-old Pekingese who is in generally good health, but gets the occassional bladder infection. I'm usually able to tell when he's sick because he will have an accident in the house. It happened today, but I didn't get home until it was too late to go to the vet. He keeps needing to go out, and he looks to have some infection around his "private part", (sorry), so I am sure it is his bladder again. I am taking him to the vet tomorrow, but he is whining--is there ANYTHING I can give him to help his discomfort? He has not gotten sick this fast before--how can I help him?

ETA: Is there anything I can get over-the-counter to help him be more comfortable until tomorrow? What about baby asprin? I don't know anything about human medicine and dogs--please help if you can! Thanks!

Please call your vet and listen to the recording. they should give you the number for your local emergency vet.

Sorry, but we can't help you here.
