I have a 2 yr. old Boxer who has been having blood in his stool for several days now. He is acting normal, eating like usual...
Any idea what it could be? If it keeps up I'll take him to the vet this week.
I remember when Chelsea, had blood in her stool, we rushed her to the vet and it turned out to be a viral infection, that had to be treated with medication. Sometimes blood in the stool could also be something else, so yes get him to the vet asap.
Joey has had that twice. THe first time it was coccida which he got from his mother. The second time was hookworms. Both needed medications, so you should go to the vet asap.
There are any number of possible causes for this, but they all need to be dealt with by a vet. Take a fresh (within 4 hours or up to 8 hours if refrigerated) stool sample with you when you go to the vet or drop it off before your appointment.
