pimples?

So I posted a question a few days ago about Dixie having a bump on her head. A few people think the bump on Dixie's head might be a pimple..but do dogs get pimples?

Re: pimples?

Its right on her head between her eye and her ear. It reminds me of the things on Shreks head. It's got the stem type end to it and a big ball on the top. She flinches when we touch anywhere near it but she still acts like a normal puppy so it must not be that bad.

Re: pimples?

I would go to the vet. Animals can get acne but I know in cats it presents as black flaky spots, usually on the chin. When it happened to one of our cats they told us to use a light acne cream (there was a specific ingredient but I forget) and it helped. But this does not sound like that.

I would definitely at least call the vet, s/he can tell you if you need to come in or if you can ignore/treat it.

Re: pimples?

I have a Mastiff with acne, but it is on his chin from being wet all of the time. You really should see a vet about it- just to be safe. It is not the doggy acne my boy has- It could be something to worry about.

Re: pimples?

It could be a sebacous cyst which can be nothing or could be a problem. I would take the dog to the vet to be sure.
