paw problems

My dog seems to have some sort of infection between his toes and pads on his front right paw. I've been soaking his foot in water with epsom salt and keeping his paw clean and wrapped up so he can't lick it and nothing else will get in there. It's been about a week now and it hasn't gotten any better. The skin between his pads looks red like dried blood but i have tried countless times to clean it off and it stays the same color, I'm thinking the skin is that color and there's some kind of infection/irritation under the skin? I am making a vet appointment for sometime this week, but it will be a few more days. Any suggestions on how to ease his discomfort? It's very sensitive!

Re: paw problems

I would try to get in to the vet first thing on Monday morning. Infections/wounds of the feet are nothing to mess with at home. At this point home remedies are not working and you need to get the dog to a vet soon. Be sure to tell the vet's office that this is an emergent need as the condition has been going on for a week already.
