My doggie has fluid on her elbow. It started out small and now is about the size of a small egg. It was really soft and is now starting to get harder/stiffer because the skin is getting tight. She weighs about 25-30 lbs and was wondering what it was and if I could give her ibuprofen? It doenst seem to hurt her. Thanks!
Ibuprofin is very toxic to dogs. Even a little bit could poison her. Baby aspirin is OK for dogs, if used properly. You should contact your vet to ask about proper dosage. If she has any other health problems, don't even give her the aspirin. The vet would be able to prescribe a safe pain reliever.
It may be a hygroma, have it checked by your vet, DO NOT give meds until you know what it is.
IF it's a hygroma that is simply a cusion that forms aroung the joint due to lying on hard surfaces, give her a soft surface to lay on and it will eventually go away on its own. DO NOT allow a Hygroma to be drained as this will open it to infection.
