Well I sure didn't want to, but today my 6 month old Siberian Husky pup went under the knife to get neutered. I wasn't planning on having it done but one of his testicles hadn't dropped and the vet said that if it hadn't by now that chances were it wouldn't drop. I'm getting ready to go pick him up from surgery soon and I have a few questions. Because of the retained testicle they had to make an extra incision to remove it from his abdomen. The vet said the incision was almost 4 in long along with the other incision which is less than an inch. She said that I would have to keep him cage confined for the next few, at least 3, days. So here are my questions. What do I do if he starts licking at the wound? What exactly does cage confined mean, I mean I keep him in the house and I don't think he can do to much damage walking around the room under my supervision? Does this mean, only let him out to use the bathroom and do so on leash? A husky being locked up in a cage for 3 days, I'm afraid he will be bouncing off the walls with energy. Anyone out there that has had this surgery done and can lend some insight on caring for a pup post surgery, please do so. Thanks in advance
