Sores

I have an eight year old ShihPoo and he has gotten sores on his body the last few months. Since it is winter and he is an inside I don't know if this has something to do with it. He started with sores on his belly that I call humping sores. He has a octopuss that he humps all the time. He developed these sores that were almost like dried scabs. The sores don't seem to seep and are about the size of a dime. He has one on his back and one on his leg. The funny thing is they don't seem to bother him. He doesn't scratch anymore than usual and I can squeeze them and he doesn't react anymore than when I touch his skin. The sores are very rough. I feed him nothing but Iams and I change the types every six months. He still has an appetite, doesn't scratch, has plenty of energy and seems fine other than these sores. He has had yeast infestions in his ears and they doen't seem to be a problem. I have some medicine for his ears that works. The easy way is to go to the vet but it seems lately everytime I go to a vet they tell me the same thing that I find on the internet. Plus there is the expense. Any help?

Optional Information:
Age: 7; Male; Breed: Shih Poo

Already Tried:
Changed diet, and used lotion on dried sores

Re: Sores

We don't dispense veterinary information here. And without a diagnosis other members will be hesitant to suggest any "cures." Your dog could very well have an infection in these sores which needs to be treated. Please see a vet.

Re: Sores

Sorry, IMO there is nothing worse than diagnosing and treating your own dog.
Please don't believe everything you read on the Internet.

I highly recommend a visit to your vet ASAP. The longer you wait the more it will cost you.
