10 Month old puppy in Heat

We are fairly new dog owners and our 10 month old Havanese has gone into heat. One thing we are noticing is that she periodically throughout the day will become very timid and will shake a lot. She acts as if she is very afraid (even towards family members) which is so uncharacteristic of her joyful dispostion. Is this a hormonal thing taking place or is something else happening that we should know about. Thanks

The only one that would know if it is something more than her being in heat is your Vet. You should at least call, or take her in if you are worried about her.
