Hair Loss

I have a 3 year old sheltie/jack russel mix. The other day she started to lose some hair around her eyelids and lips. It doesn't seem to bother her. But she has always been a pretty princess so I was wondering if anyone could let me know what is causing this and if there is any homeopathic remedies. I have attatched a picture but had to resize it so it is not very clear. Thanks!

Is it to the point where she is balding? It is shedding season (where I am at least) both my dog and cat are leaving carpets where ever they sit. Maybe shes just shedding?
Is she always rubbing the area where the hair is coming off? She could have something there bothering her.

Ask the vet to do a skin scrape, it's a cheap and easy way to be sure of the cause.

FYI, Demodex is known to start this way, so get ahead of it so your dog can get treated.

I second that...get a skin scrape. Demodectic was the first thing I thought of...it'd be good to get it checked.

Yep, and if you catch it early it's just a topical treatment, not the full blown treatment I'm paying for!!!

One of our dogs went though some hair loss causing patches when she lost her mate. The vet said it was an emotional reaction to her loss. It cleared up after a few months. Has you dog had any traumas lately?
