? after neutering...

Hello all, as I've mentioned before, little Asher got neutered yesterday. He is a bit uncomfortable though at times he is acting like his normal self. I have advised mom to leave him in his crate for most of the day so that he won't hurt himself.

Now, mom just told me that he finally went poo this morning but it had a bit of blood in it. Is this normal? Should we call the vet or give it a little time and see if the same occurs next time? She checked him out and he didn't have any blood on him. He is eating and drinking normally.

TIA from a worried mom many miles away from her baby.

Ithink a vet call is in order.....
whenever soemthing like this happens I wouldn't take advice from an internet board I would give the vet a quick call and see what they say.... .better safe than sorry.

Thx Shalva, that is what I figured too. She is going to call them and see what they say. They also sent him home with antibiotics for 10 days which he is starting today. Man oh man, how I wish I were there with him.

No, not at all. Mom is taking care of Ash for me while I finish school in NY since I don't get home till 10pm a few nights a week and leave at 7am to go to work. I will be moving down to Fl. in July permanently and didn't want to uproot him.

Re: ? after neutering...

Of course, I realized...hey "I" should call...no matter that I am in a different state! So I did and they said that it could be because he was dewormed and to keep an eye on him and check his stool. He is eating and drinking normally so he should be ok.

Mom will be keeping an eye on him and if necessary, he will be going right back to see the doctor.

Thx again Shalva for your fast response!
