Seizures and flash photography

My 7 year old GSD had a seizure Friday night. First time ever. His vet thinks it is most likely epilepsy. It was so scary. We had been taking a lot of flash photography about an hour or so before the seizure. This is maybe a silly question, but can flashing lights set seizures off in the way they do in humans with epilepsy?

I am sure that the things that set them off in humans would also set them off in dogs. I would ask the vet what to avoid and all that. I have a friend with epilepsy and her diet is pretty restricted.

This happened the same day you brought your puppy home right? I think that a combination of the shock/excitement from the new pup and all of the flash could have contributed to it. I am just looking at the situation and taking a stab at it, but I would definitely ask your vet about it. Hope it all smooths out for you!

Yes, the vet thinks the excitement of the new pup might have been a factor. Not to mention the 20 inches of snow we got that he went nuts over. That's a lot in one day.
