vomiting

Hello,
I have a mixed breed dog, approximately 8 years old in very good health. No issues up to date at all with her. This evening, out of the blue, she vomited. She did not get into anything, I was home all day long and she was at my side 99% of the time. It appeared to be undigested dog food. She doesn't appear sick at all, she is energetic and acting completely normal. She went outside afterwards and ran around full speed and seems to feel fine.

Normally I would think nothing of it at all, I know dogs get tummy aches at times. I am a bit paranoid though, I lost my chihuahua a year ago to sudden onset liver failure ( she was very old ) and her first ( and pretty much only ) sign was vomiting that quickly deteriated her to dehydration and ultimately had to be put down. So now vomiting registers in my head as BAD.

Could I be overreacting and perhaps she just has an upset stomach? Anything to give her particularly good for stomach issues?
thanks!

Re: vomiting

You may be over reacting, but I would think a call and maybe a morning visit to the vet would be in order. Better to be safe than sorry IMHO. Watch her close tonight for sure.

Re: vomiting

I don't worry if my dogs vomit once. But if it is repeatedly (multiple times within a few hours or continues off/on for more than one day) and/or accompanied by diarrhea or other strange symptoms...off to the vet we go, even if it means the ER vet on a holiday weekend.
