Puppy has allergy - itchy flaky skin

My 10 week old Swissy is having an allergic reaction! We had her on Eagle Pack Puppy Food for large breed dogs and, suspecting that was the source, switched her to Merrick Puppy Plate. She has only been on the new food for five days but still has dandruff and is itching. We are going to steam clean the carpets in case it is a dust mite allergy. Has anyone had any experience with this? Thank you in advance for your help!

Flaky skin is not necessarily allergies. It may be dry skin which is often seen in puppies, the solution is to add fish oil to the puppy's food. Allergies is usually observed on the dogs' legs, they bite constantly their leg and the skin looks irritated (dark pink).

However I would pay a visit to the vet just in case.
