Question on Bladder

If your dog had a bladder infection, would he be able to hold it for 10 hours during the night? How often do they generally pee if they have a problem?

I'm not really sure if the dog is just bored since it's too cold to go for walks and just wants to go out or what. I really couldn't tell you the difference between peeing and marking. He routinely goes out and pees on several trees with the exception at night he is too tired to mark and just pees, same way in the morning. He isn't in any pain and doesn't have a problem with the flow. He is just peeing every 2 hours and he is 10 years old. If I leave for several hours, he doesn't have an accident. I've only had him for 3 months Thanks

Re: Question on Bladder

Please take him to the vet! I recently had a problem with my 8 year old girl. She showed no signs of pain, but kept peeing more and more often. Eventually, she began to pee blood. She had a bladder stone that could have been life-threatening. (I only had her for a few weeks at this time.) The vet said that had she been treated at the first signs (maybe even years before!), we could have avoided emergency surgery and treated her with medicine and diet additions. Please take your dog to a vet with any behavior changes. This could be or could become a serious problem.

Re: Question on Bladder

I agree with the Patches Pet. You need to take your dog to the vet to be checked out. It may be something simple or something that needs to be taken care of. This is something that can only be truly determined by the vet. Let us know what he says.
