Bones

I cook a bowl full of bones (beef..lamb) each week for my dog. He gets one every day. Anyone know if it will damage his teeth...or cause harm to digestion?

Pretty much any vet will tell you that is a bad idea. They can chew off splinters of bone that can lodge in their mouth, throat, esophagous, and anywhere else in their digestive system. I got to watch a beautiful little Sheltie slowly die last year because her owner decided to give her bones to chew on. It wasn't pretty.

Cooked bones of any kind can splinter and puncture the digestive tract causing the loss of the dog. If you want to give bones, give them raw as they are better for the teeth and easier to digest. They act as fiber to a dogs body and don't listen to the myth that raw will make a dog sick, dogs have more digestive enzymes to deal with a raw diet.

Yes, bones can splinter mid-digestion, and puncture the intestine, or stomache lining. Very bad idea. I would be very careful. Maybe trade them for Nyla bones

Cooked or raw bones can splinter and cause problems. I wouldn't recommend either.
